It crashes all the time. Takes up too much space and is beyond frustrating.
Blocked from commenting
I ask simple yet pointed questions about liberal policies. I challenge the logic. And point out the hypocrisy. Apparently Yahoo does not like this, and I am unable to respond to the liberal echo chamber that has become all too obvious in the comment section. And the liberal slant of news perspectives by Yahoo is never objective.

Targeted Ageist Adds
I liked this news app. A lot. I eventually removed it from my phone due to all those weird dementia, memory loss, viagra, hearing aids, c pap, etc adds that were accompanied by most disgusting, grossest imaginable images. And when I turned off data sharing in settings, I received a message stating that I must keep data sharing on if I want to continue using the app. I opted to simply delete the app.

Yahoo News has turned its comment sections into open sewers. There’s no moderation, no civility, just mobs hurling insults like drunken hecklers. Either Yahoo is too incompetent to control it or too indifferent to care. In either case, it’s pathetic.
Work as intended
The app is very useful. For the desktop version, a country of origin for the folks that decided to comment on stories should be added next to their names. I’ve seen way too many using AI to translate just to rile people for responses.

I read FoxNews for a conservative slant and Yahoo News for a liberal slant.
Impossible to read articles
Lately has become nearly impossible to read some articles on iPhone due to constantly changing advertisements, which suddenly update the display and either throw you back to the beginning of the article or display “Something went wrong. Try again.” Yahoo News used to be my favorite news source - a great news aggregator - but I may need to find something else.

Changes
I do not like the radical changes in Yahoo news. It is far from the user friendly site before all the changes. You blew it!! I hate the fact that when you click on an article of interest, you get another whole list of options to scroll through. I just return to the main news page. Also , after reading an article for a short time my iPad screen goes blank.

Not working right
In the middle of reading an article and the article goes back to the beginning or it goes black. I click on the back arrow and it doesn’t return to the previous page. I have to click the back arrow multiple times before just to get out of the article.

Ten years ago the app was great. It curated news intelligently, and its comments section operated intuitively with simple up and down votes, and ability to rank comments in order of best, oldest or newest.
Today the interface is unusable, curation of news is hyper looped to user feedback, and the updated comments section is completely wrecked. The new additions of hearts and hahas only serve to mimic Facebook’s largely useless feedback interface, which is a downgrade. Worse, they got rid of ranking comments in order of best to worst.
You even have to force capitalization of the first word in a sentence! FFS, man, every text interface in the Apple world has default capitalization. Double you tee eff is wrong with you??
App developers seem hell-bent on breaking repeatedly what never needed fixing in the first place. I am totally amazed someone actually got paid to program this hunk of junk.

Don’t like the update
Comments now don’t seem same as on a webpage so if I get a reply now I can’t view it in the app - so had to delete the app. Didn’t seem worth it.
Deeply Flawed
Many updates are not enhancements, they’re unusable. It’s as though they don’t beta-test anything before releasing it. It’s unprofessional to have users beta-test for your IT team.

Yahoo accounts are not secured and got hacked many times. Yet Yahoo required phone number during sign up.
