Perfect for Yellowstone NP!!

My family and I just spent a full week in the Teton/Yellowstone area and this app was amazing. The base app is well worth it but buy the 19.99 full app - it will save you hundreds on guide books or paying for guides. There is no reception in YNP except at 3-4 locations, this app doesn’t require it. It gives great guidance on so many things as you simply drive or hike to the areas.

A must have for anyone visiting this wonderful gift of nature!

App was a super help

The drive guide was fantastic-like having a seasoned tour guide in the car with us even outside of the parks and in no cell signal areas. Teddy knows his stuff and was a huge part of a great trip!

Auto narration does not work reliably

Really nice when it does work.

I tried leaving the app on but it doesn’t keep the phone awake. Even if someone is actively keeping phone awake it doesn’t auto narrate.

The only workaround that seems to work consistently is to turn on navigation in maps app to somewhere (anywhere) and then the phone will hold the app open and phone on so this app can work.

Sometimes it doesn’t register me as being a paid customer so don’t close the app if out of signal.

A must have

Started right when we we’re pulling out of the Bozeman Airport and continued throughout both Parks and we pulled over and heard some really great stories that we didn’t even know anything about like these treasure that was buried in the park by Forrest Finn and then the story of the three brothers and told us where the animals would be and there they were.
Then we did the walking tour in Jackson and told us the best restaurants to go to and then we did the same thing in the town of West Yellowstone.
Really made our vacation better than we could’ve ever hoped for.

Need to know in Advance

I work at The Cody Hotel in Cody Wyoming. Many people stay with us on their way to or from Yellowstone as we are 59 miles away from the East entrance. A friend told us of your book, we then found your podcast which told us about the app. I was very excited about it. I clicked on three icons to hear a sample and couldn’t wait to use it on our trip through the park. When we got into the park, the app worked as promised without cell service or Wi-Fi using GPS location services, however, when I got to my sixth icon, the app said you have reached your five free icon limit. You must purchase the full DriveGuide, which would have been fine, I would gladly pay the $19.99 for it, but I didn’t have service now and couldn’t make the purchase. I would’ve been very upset if I had traveled from the East Coast or from abroad and had this happen. I have since purchased a full version and have excitedly suggested it to many of our guests at the hotel, but told them to make sure they click on six icons while they have service so it will prompt the purchase of the full version. Depending on how many more guests download and buy the app, I may need to ask for a finders fee, lol😊 i’ve already had three this morning😃

WOW

Works offline, which is essential in most areas of Yellowstone National Park where service is limited. The GuideAlong provides a steady stream of interesting commentary and highlights lesser-known stops you would likely miss otherwise. It makes the drive more engaging and helps you get more out of every mile! Definitely recommend. Wow.

So Helpful!!

Teddy is the best! This is seriously so helpful and cool. The stories and being guided through the whole park. He really knows this place. My grandparents are excited to utilize this as well, they visit the park every year and Ted’s info guides always show something you never knew before!

Best Yellowstone Drive Guide!

Look no further- if you’re going to Yellowstone, GET THIS APP! We listened to most of the Explore Yellowstone Like a Local Podcasts, this is done by the same guy, Teddy, his family has been going there for generations. On the app, you have little circles you can click on as you go through the park, narration of what you are seeing, what to look for, fun facts, unique things to do at every location, plus the stuff you didn’t know you needed to see!

Great audio guide

Just like having Teddy in the car with you as you drive along. I’ve only used it outside of the park is a park not open yet, but there are so many interesting things in the area that the other audio guides don’t talk about.
