About
Yielding is an offline reader for the Dao De Jing — all 81 chapters, read slowly.
The Chinese text follows the Wang Bi received edition. Each chapter is unfolded in layers: the original text with pinyin annotation, a modern Chinese paraphrase, a summary of the chapter's argument, line-by-line glosses, five classical commentaries, and variant readings from the Mawangdui silk manuscript and the Guodian bamboo slips.
Note: this app presents the Dao De Jing in Chinese. Interface text is available in English, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese; the source text itself, the annotations and the commentaries are Chinese.
