I think it is very pathetic that I must buy the app on order to get the news of my hometown and surrounding areas. All the newspaper companies have ripped their customers off for years,, and now u want us to pay for internet news,, I think u are outta ur mind if I’m gonna get ripped off anymore. I think it’s pathetic to want ppl to pay for internet news !!

Ordered and not “delivered”
I subscribe to the online paper for one year & paid in full. It is now day 10 of my subscription and I still don’t have access to the paper. I have called three times and sent two emails their “customer service” team…I was offered to extend my service for 11 days next year.

It’s great when it works
Every single morning lately, I have to jump through hoops to get my newspaper. My homepage is supposed to be the E newspaper. It just sits there and does nothing and I keep tapping on the little thing that says E because it doesn’t come up right away like it should this is getting tiresome

Notifications for Pay Wall Blocked Stories
Do not sent me notifications for stories blocked by a paywall. If you want me to delete the app fine,,but it is annoying. If I want to see the story It can usually be found somewhere else. I understand the business model but you should have other options.

Purchased through Apple App Store. Continuously denies access to “subscriber only” stories and does not offer support. The when trying to post this review, required “nickname” but repeatedly rejected names submitted.

Cancelling subscription because of the app
I wanted to have access to local news during COVID, and virtual news was the most affordable option. But after a few months of using this app, I’m fed up with it and consequently cancelling my subscription. The app is set up like a Facebook timeline, where new articles are mixed in with old ones and click-bait ads made to look like news stories. Why am I paying $8.99/ month to wade through advertisements? It also feels like the same articles have been posted for months, which makes sense if they’re being updated but there is no clear notice saying as much. There is also a “you missed # stories- catch up” banner near the top that directs you to the new articles, and that’s the reason I’ve kept using the app as long as I have. Not worth it to me anymore though- I’ll watch the news on TV instead.
