YourCelf is a private place for a family to share photographs.
You make a Circle for your family, the cousins or the book club, and invite the people who belong in it. There is no public feed, no discovery, no strangers, and nothing to follow. Just the people you chose, and the moments you chose to share with them.
Every photo you share with a Circle is sealed on your phone before it goes anywhere. The relay that carries it between phones holds only sealed blocks it cannot open, and neither can we. There is no account to create and no password to forget: your phone holds your keys, and only the people in your Circle can open what you send.
WHAT A CIRCLE FEELS LIKE
• Post a photo where only the people in the room can see it.
• Answer with a photo of your own from the same day ("Add yours"), or leave a comment and reply to others.
• Love a moment, or a comment. No follower counts, no rankings.
• Someone new wants in? The person who invited them has to let them in.
WHAT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
• Your photo library. YourCelf reads it on the device to find your days and trips, where they happened and who was there, and gathers them into Story. To name a place, your phone uses a list of towns kept on the phone, then asks Apple Maps about an approximate location, never the photo itself. Your photos are not uploaded.
• Caption ideas. On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, Story can suggest a caption when you share a day, written on the phone by Apple's on-device model. It's used only if you choose it.
• A second look, if you want one. Turn on Sensitive Content Warning in iOS Settings and your phone checks each photo before it's sent, using Apple's own on-device framework, and gives you a beat to reconsider. The result never leaves the phone.
• Your keys, your Circles, your history. Delete everything from Settings and it is gone from this phone, including every backup YourCelf made.
WHAT WE CAN AND CAN'T SEE
Settings → "What we can and can't see" lays it out in plain language. The short version: our relay can see which phone keys sent sealed blocks to which, how large they were and when. It cannot see what was in them. If you turn on the heads-up for requests to join, your phone also checks the relay now and then while YourCelf is closed. Where a phone supports it, the relay also uses Apple's App Attest to check that what it receives comes from YourCelf, and keeps a small record of that for each phone until 30 days after it was last used.
The one exception is a report. If you report a post, a comment or a reply, you send it to us unsealed (the photo if there is one, what they wrote, their name and yours, and your email if you add one) so a person here can act on it, within 24 hours. We keep a report ninety days, or a year from the day we pass it to the authorities if the law requires that; our host's backups may hold a copy up to about two weeks longer.
Report and block are in the … menu on every post, comment and reply from someone else. Blocking someone stops your phone sealing what you post to them, and anything of theirs that reaches you is dropped or hidden.
YourCelf is for adults, 18 and over, and is currently available in the United States.
