Genuinely the best music app
I switched phones and my Spotify stopped working. So I went to apple music the best coincidence ever. I wasnt even made my playlists were gone because using youtube music makes me go. “Damn did they remember to put ads in there app” the only and I mean only thing that could be improved upon is search and maybe the shuffle but otherwise leagues ahead of spotify.

Playlist issues and bugs
So many issues with playlists. I use recommended and curated playlists that YouTube music recommends itself. The problem is many of the tracks from the playlist aren’t validated in real time and have licensing issues appearing as “this track can’t be played at this time, will skip to the next available track”. It actually doesn’t skip which is another bug. Whatever Google touches seems to have problems.

Pretty good for an entertainment app, with slight issues
This is a really a great app for music, since there’s a way to get rid of adds without having to pay money, the only problem I have with it is that when I shut off my phone, the music goes away too, it’s doesn’t go onto the background. My personal idea is that they should add something that includes this feature like in other music apps. This would be a nice touch to the app. My other problem is that it stops mid song even though I have WiFi and a good connection. It says that I’m “ offline”but I’m not! The WiFi is perfectly fine. Other than that, I really enjoy listening music on this app. Very convenient, just that issue of not being able to listen to music when my phone is also off, and the constant mid stopping during songs. You know what I mean? It’s kinda frustrating how it stops mid song, and it keeps happening! Please fix this issue. Thanks.

Its not a music app until you pay
Why is it called the music app when you have to open it all the time like a tv to listen to a song..all other music apps are different; they atleast let you listen with ads

i really like youtube music. the biggest advantage over other streaming services is that you can add songs to playlists even if they're not official releases, which is sooo nice. that being said, devs PLEASE add a feature where i can view my most streamed songs of all time- it's definitely what i miss most compared to spotify.

Playlist missing
I’ll come straight to the point. I’ve been adding songs to the same playlist since past 2 years, also I maintain a download of that playlist in yt music itself and now all of a sudden the playlist disappeared like it never existed but the downloaded plays list is still available. I haven’t seen such glitch or whatever cherry on top you can add, in any other app. Now that’s just static like I can’t add songs to it anymore or share it to another device or account or make a copy of it. The kinda care you put into blocking the user from duplicating a downloaded playlist was insane but it would be better if you work the same way on preserving the playlists. I literally hated this like nothing before.

Why do I need to live in the same household?
I am currently a user of YouTube Music, but I am on my mother‘s plan because I cannot afford to pay for my own music service. I am on disability and I used to pay for my own music app, but because it was too expensive my mother had me be put on her plan. We do not live in the same house and now I am going to lose my music because of the new update coming on the 24th. Please change this.

I have been loving YouTube music i pay the subscription so I can listen without interruption now that this new AI beyond the beat has been added. I absolutely find it annoying you can only snooze it for one day. How do you get rid of it?🤬

Clunky execution
I honestly liked this app. Used it for years and years because it allowed me to even add covers to my playlist. One day I realized I was getting charged twice for my YouTube account and my music account (never signed up for a YouTube account which was evident by all the ads I’d get when scrolling YouTube) and so I disputed the double charge with Apple (YouTube music is about $15 monthly) and after likely years of being double charged they gave me a $5 refund. So I deleted the application and went to Spotify. If they’re not running your pockets, keep the app. But definitely check to make sure you’re not getting screwed over because they will not make it right.

Dear producers of YouTube Music. It has been brought to my attention that I have been getting kicked out of my account left and right. I have not been able to retrieve any of them since they have been deleted. Whats the point of, “This number has been used too many times”? Because of that, I can’t listen to music anymore. Please fix this.

Needs a filter system
There should be a tag feature for songs, and a way to filter those songs from showing up in your recommended. This is mostly because I would like to filter AI music out of my recommended.
Youtube music fix this
it takes an extremely long time to load, its constantly glitching and downloading music i didnt ask for. Please fix this, im about to move to spotify.
Background play must pay.
Having no way to listen in the background without premium should be criminal. All your competitors allow such an easy access option, why can’t you? Especially for a dedicated audio variant; you can still profit off the ads but apparently it’s not enough. Money, money, money.
Never plays the whole playlist
I can’t be the only one with this issue. Every time I shuffle play a playlist, it lays it all out like it’s the full playlist, but actually it starts over after a hundred songs or so. So you’re stuck repeating the same songs over and over. I WANT MY WHOLE PLAYLIST TO PLAY. I work twelve hour shifts with music on ALL THE TIME. I don’t want to hear the same songs over and over again.
And no, I’m not dumb, it’s not a repeat button issue. It literally doesn’t queue up every song but acts like it does. Those who have the same issue will know what I’m talking about. This has been A LONG TIME ISSUE, has never been fixed or even addressed. Ridiculous that a company with this much money can’t even get a playlist to play properly. Garbage app, garbage company.
As of 09-12-2026 this is still an issue. It’s insane to me that I cannot listen to my whole playlist. It just starts repeating after maybe thirty songs? COMPLETE GARBAGE STILL

Randomly pauses 50+ times a day
I’ll be listening to music and it pauses all the time. I can’t stand it. Doesn’t matter if I have my AirPods in, through my car or through the phone speaker. Phantom pauses all the time!

Carplay is atrocious
The app keeps crashing and there is absolutely NO WAY you can select a specific song in any way. Only select a play list and that’s it, and don’t look at it the wrong way, it’ll crash and start from song #1. But I get it… Youtube aka google doesn’t have the fund to make s good app like spotify…… what a joke.
