Wasted

I could’ve sworn that I had written a review for this game upon its release but I guess not. Anyway, the glaring issues that were present then are still present but at this point in time I’m gonna say that it doesn’t matter. This game has such a decent amount of production value from the opening cinematic to the in game models of most of the monsters and the music. However, there is nothing…and I mean nothing about this game that would make anyone want to play it or keep playing it. You level your monsters through a gacha system and then can only set five skills from the nineteen that the monster has? You can call it strategic all you want but it’s antiquated and poorly designed. Truly this game’s time and resources could’ve been used to make Master Duel or Duel Links better games instead of being wasted on this failed endeavor. A complete and utter shame.

Why make a gacha?

Man as a big fan this kinda disappointed me a lot. Some game mechanics where good but it wasn’t yugioh at all. Most monsters just had effects randomly thrown on them. A few had some good quality effects that came from the card game and that was good it just wasn’t enough of them.

Should’ve been a turbo duel focused game. With a race track with 4 lanes instead of whatever this was supposed to be. (No offense) this didn’t feel like a Yu-gi-oh game it felt more like watching kaiba try to desperately create a random game where he could be yugi.

But more importantly imagine switching lanes and cutting someone off and snagging a card they where aiming for. No, imagine someone is using a speed deck and is about to make their final lap and someone stops them with a trap card lol. Just an Idea but worth exploring if you wanna do something different from the traditional card game. Plus it’s already been introduced in many ways.

Another idea would be to make a chess like game that functioned similar to dungeon dice monsters or just update dungeon dice monsters and make it a nice small scale mobile game. Anyways had fun enjoyed the game for what it was feel like it was givin up on too quickly and didn’t get the attention it deserved tbh.

Please don’t shut down the game

I’ve been playing the game recently and the game is incredibly fun, you really do need to think a few turns ahead in this game. It’s a shame that the game is getting shut down instead of fixing the negatives of the game. Like the fact that you need to pull duplicates of the cards to upgrade it but the pull rates are so low, something that can be easily fixed (for example, the candies in Pokémon masters ex that upgrade characters instead of pulling dupes). I hope Konami rethinks this and instead continue to support the game.

A rip off

I’ve been playing cross duel since it’s global release. I’m the past few months (January-March 2023) I haven’t gotten a single newly addition cards. The gacha is rigged. Like I save all the gems for a big pack opening and it doesn’t even matter. I still get the worst cards, no super rare no ultras. And I think it’s funny that my luck stopped as soon as I stopped putting money into the game. It’s like if you pay money you have better odds which is unfair and a negative experience overall. Konami I’ve always supported you but fix your game. It’s unbearable boring to constantly save and get nothing in return. I’ve wasted probably weeks of my life trying to get new cards and it simply won’t give me any. I’m shocked by the lack of inspiration this game needs

Konami please ready

I love this game. Make a better pity system, so you can make more money. Please make more online features/modes to play with friends outside of room duels. Such as a true ranked or casual tag team duel mode. I would like to see more ways to play with friends. So far it’s just room duels, and raid duels. Really fun game.

Fun and unstable

One of the better games I’ve enjoyed when the mobile game is stable. Most often though it is not stable and I am forced to reset the game. I’ve lost games because of the freezes many times over. More often if I do lose a game it is because of the freezes not because of loss of LP from another player. I gave four stars because I love the game, but have am so frustrated by the freezes.

Review after playing a couple days

I noticed how enjoyable this game was with the variety of game modes. One aspect of the game is what barley turns me away or at least step away from the game for a while, the fact that their is skill based matching is good but they need matching based on how many extra cards collected and stuff like that so I’m not going against people who have full buff slots when I have one slot. That’s the only downside to this game is how easy you can pay to win and stomp early game kids.(Me n my people)

Has potential but the core concept of the game is just flawed.

4-person Battle Royale is just not a great idea. You think teaming in a 100-player game is bad? Wait until you see how bad it is in this game. People literally ask to team with others to ladder in the public chat.
This game also has the slowest rounds imaginable. Monsters move at a snail’s pace and card abilities activate one at a time. Add to that we have to watch the animation for every single monster summoned. Who thought this was a good idea?

It’s not all bad though.
The game has several chat options including friend chat—which is sorely lacking in a lot of other multiplayer games so it’s nice to see they put in the time to implement that.
The English translations are also pristine and I’ve yet to encounter a single bug(crashes not withstanding).

Playing this game feels like such a chore most of the time especially when the rewards for winning are so terrible. 2/5

Best Game EVA!

Man, Now I don’t need to beg my mom for any games now this is my go-to game. God tier Quality, Amazing Touches, Marvellous Amount of Monsters, And finally BEST TUTORIALS! This helped me learned the game quick and fast! The only downside is that u don’t get gems each Casual rank match u finish. The only Match u gain fast gems (in my opinion) Is Tag Duels And Challenge Duels. Great game tho!

Favorite game! But….

*I think the Exodus might be bugged?* It worked I think only once for me where the count went up using normal monsters. I’ve tried summoning one and multiple at a time in different positions.

Anyways, cool graphics and gameplay for an app. Does take a while to get good cards even spending money sometimes. I do recommend!

It’s a great game but…..

It’s a great for casual players to play but imo the game is already dead. Tried to play ranked and raid but for the longest time and I was just on queue. Waited for 10 mins then gave up already. The only real modes that are playable were the single player mode and the room matches and even then, you would need a friend to play a game. Idk if it’s region locked but if it is, they would need to open up their servers because their player base is too small. It’s sad because the events they put out aren’t being played and the people that like the game and would want to get the rewards aren’t able to do them. Even spent the 8 something bucks to get the beginner gacha.

Excellent Game but Why Konami Just Why

It’s an awesome game, 5 star worthy and one of the better Yugioh games out of everything available, imo but why doesn’t Konami rerelease Azure Dreams and not the stripped down lame GBA version, I mean the original?? Have you see the prices they are currently going for? I lent mine out to a friend ages ago and never saw it again. Tried to get another one and $80 is a steal if you can find it for that cheap at this point, good luck. Are the devs just ignoring die hard niche fans or what?? Dudes rerelease the game already, no lame stripped versions either. Like Suikoden or Star Ocean, its like they don’t even know they have this major fan base they can tap into but just don’t.
Rant over.

Best Yu-Gi-Oh! Game and Fun For The Whole Family!!

This game was so exceptional that I had to write a review when I never do. I played the original card game and took a break to return to this game.

Friends and family would say that Yu-Gi-Oh! was complex and the length of card effects seemed to be increasing year after year on average. This was the first Yu-Gi-Oh! game that got normal players curious and interested in playing. I have fun playing with family and friends, and I think this game has a great potential to do well in the family fun category of games as well.

Magnificent work, Konami!

Review SOLID GAME (Needs more daily rewards)

I normally don’t really write reviews but In hopes that this reaches the right places.
I’ve played the game since it launched, so far it’s a very solid game. I’m very happy with the gameplay and it looks really nice! Even if some of the voice acted animations are just copy pasted from duel links. That being said I do have one problem I suppose.
There are little to no daily rewards.
That’s my main complaint honestly otherwise I really enjoy the game and good job so far!!

Skimpy reward system

How come when the season resets the seasons rewards do not reset? Once I have reached Platinum one in season one there’s really no reason to advance rank anymore. Wait a whole month to get 5 measly packs of cards. Seems a little stingy. Other games I have played similar to this with rank rewards will at least reset the rewards each season. Seems pretty week to rank up from gold to platinum for nothing.

Fun but has issues

I so far have liked this game, the game mechanics are fun and the 4 player system is unique. One issue I have come across is getting kicked from a match even when I have a very good connection or have waited for minutes for the “waiting for other players” notification to go away and continue the match. Really hope this is fixed.

Great, needs improvements

I LOVE the new format/concept, kudos to those behind the idea. It feels accessible - as of yet there’s not really an unbeatable/pervasive meta due to how it’s designed, no 20x moves like other versions.

Small gripes I have; KILLER on mobile device battery life. Would love to see that reduced or a PC port released in the near future.

Some aspects could do with more explanation, they bombard you with tutorials and new information to start, I personally lost/didn’t understand card trading and the medal shop for a couple of days till I stumbled on them.

Overall, very impressed with the execution, I started just the other week after how many months it’s been out and I can still land wins, unlike other formats that end up ‘locked up’ with pros and metas in the first few days. Way to go Konami!

It’s a good game that could be great.

Obviously still a new game so hopefully changes will come. I think if they made it a bit less p2w and add some more cards into the mix the game could grow fast. As it is, people know it’s way to much of a gatcha to really want to give it the time of day this game deserves. Great game play concept. Could be a slight but faster as well with match’s being like 20 mins minimum.

Over power

Okay I love this game but how can I enjoy it when you have people always powering up back to back especially ranked. Like idk if is favoritism idk but I can only attack once while the other opponent attack me more than once like how’s that fair man. I’m getting tired of it, I’m about to delete it. Just saying. Find better ways to put rank people on the same rank to level up. Also 8 phases not enough . Seriously. 10 would be great, im about to delete the game. This is ridiculous how can this people have power up’s already like come Konami

Game fun, but not rewarding at all

I enjoy the game itself and play it pretty often.

I refuse to give this higher than a 3 until they fix the terrible monetization model. Currently, you can grind daily to get about 2-3 packs a day. Packs cost about $0.99 each and only contain 3 cards. Currently, I have not obtained a UR in 52 consecutive packs. You NEED 3 of THE SAME UR to functionally use it as your Ace card without being at a significant competitive disadvantage. Either lower pack prices or make the pack pity timer lower than 70. It’s absolutely INSANE that you only get a guaranteed UR after 70 Packs
