User reviews

Good starting ground but buggy

The basics such as the greetings course is spot on and incudes cultural “slang” on how folks really speak in Canto. I appreciate the developers building something for an underserved population of English speakers who want to learn Canto. However the app is buggy, for example it doesn’t always save your progress and some of the audio doesn’t work for the exercises.

Great app!

Overall great app and good UI compared to other Cantonese learning apps! Love that it builds up and also explains context of certain words like “four” which is seen as unlucky because it sounds like death in Cantonese. There’s not that many resources to learn Cantonese so this is helpful. Only thing I would want is more content on the app as well as a widget like Duolingo that has a day counter to stay on track daily. Overall appreciate this app as I’ve always wanted to learn Cantonese!

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the kind words and thoughtful review! We're thrilled you're enjoying the app and finding the cultural context helpful, that's exactly what we set out to do. Great suggestions too: more content is actively in the works, and a daily streak widget is a fantastic idea we'll seriously consider for a future update. Keep up the learning!
