About
Zählwerk is the score pad for card games with ten phases — except it does the maths itself.
At the end of a round everyone holds their remaining cards up to the camera, the app reads the values and adds them up. No mental arithmetic, no arguing over the paper slip, no "which phase was I on again?".
PHOTOGRAPH THE CARDS INSTEAD OF TYPING
Lay the cards out, point the camera, done. Recognition reads numbers and colours directly on the device and adds up the points: cards 1–9 count 5, cards 10–12 count 10, Skip 15, Wild 25. Anything the app cannot read with confidence shows up as a question mark — never as a wrong value. Tap it, set it, carry on.
ONE PASS AROUND THE TABLE
A single run through every hand in turn. Whoever went out gets "out" — phase done, zero points. For everyone else, scan or type with four buttons.
ALWAYS CLEAR WHO STANDS WHERE
The board shows each player's current phase, the phase goal as card symbols, and the total score. One glance is enough.
ROUNDS CAN BE CORRECTED
Entered something wrong? Every round can be edited afterwards and all points and phases are recalculated. The cross table shows the full history.
THE TEN PHASES AT A GLANCE
Every phase goal in one list, marked with who is currently on which.
STAYS ON THE DEVICE
No sign-up, no account, no ads, no analytics, no subscription. Card recognition runs entirely on the iPhone — the app works in airplane mode exactly as it does at home. No data whatsoever is collected or transmitted.
SMALL THINGS THAT MATTER
• English and German, following the system language
• Screen stays awake while scanning
• Haptic feedback on tap, switchable
• Rename and recolour players any time
• Finished games move to the archive
• Dark interface, easy on the eyes at the table
