About
Open the fridge. Can you say which thing goes bad first?
Zebra Pantry turns that into one scan. Scan the barcode, enter the production date once, and it works out the rest — the expiry date, the days left, what to eat first, and a nudge before anything goes off.
It's called Zebra because a barcode is just a row of stripes.
— Scan once, remember forever
The first time you scan an item, type its name and shelf life. Every rescan after that fills both in automatically — you only confirm the production date.
— Sorted by urgency, not by name
Your stock is grouped into Expired / Today / Within 3 days / Within 7 / Within 30 / Later, with a colour-coded badge on every row. Eat the red ones.
— A nudge before it's too late
By default you're reminded 7 days out, 3 days out, and on the day. Both the time of day and the lead times are yours to change. Everything expiring on the same day is merged into a single notification, so your Notification Centre stays readable.
— Date maths that doesn't lie
"31 January + 1 month" resolves to 28 February (29th in a leap year), never to a date that doesn't exist. If the packaging only prints a best-before date, enter that instead.
— Works without a readable barcode
Type the digits by hand, or create an item with no barcode at all — loose produce, home-made, repackaged, all fine.
— Photograph it instead of remembering it
Attach photos to a product and to each individual batch. A shot of the printed batch code saves you digging through the bin later.
— Eaten or binned, log it either way
Swipe left to mark a batch consumed or discarded. The History tab shows you your waste rate. Worth a glance before your next shop.
— Your data stays yours
Zebra Pantry runs entirely on your iPhone. No network access, no account, no third-party SDKs — nothing leaves the device. Export everything to a zip whenever you want a backup.
