ZeccheCam is the iOS app that makes ticks and grass awns visible on your dog's or cat's coat in real-time. How it works: - Open the camera with the color inversion filter active on launch - Parasites appear as dark spots on a light background - Adjust zoom, exposure, contrast and other settings for precise inspections - Capture and save photos to your iPhone's Camera Roll - Review your inspection history directly in the app - Access an offline guide for proper tick removal New in v4.5 — AI detection and risk zones: - On-device AI detection: a trained model highlights suspicious areas (tick, grass awn, foreign body) in real-time, directly on the camera feed. All processing runs on the device's Neural Engine. - Adjustable sensitivity: choose the detection level (Low, Medium, High) to balance precision and number of highlights. - Tick risk-zone map: view a map with a per-zone risk index, colored green to red, based on public sighting data (GBIF) weighted by season. - Authoritative regional layer: alerts when you are in an Italian region with known tick presence, based on ECDC distribution data (offline). - Zone updates: download updated sighting data with one tap, then use it offline. - Your location on the map: your position dot is shown only to you, never transmitted. It does not detect, identify, or diagnose disease. The app highlights suspicious areas for closer inspection — it does not replace veterinary assessment in any way. The risk index is informational, based on public sightings, not a medical risk.
