Complicated recipes - takes too long to cook

If you’re going to cook something in this, expect twice the time. Both recipes it took longer than the usual self cooking to fully cook the meat. The recipes have some uncommon ingredients that you won’t use again. Quick cook is not quick and really should give you the ability to set your own timer. Otherwise the pot itself is fine. Good for smaller meals.

Delicious and easy

I made the chicken and broccoli recipe, and it was delicious. My husband doesn’t usually eat chicken or leftovers, be he loves this dish. One improvement: please list cooking times in the recipe PRIOR to starting cooking. I like planning and available cooking times would be extremely helpful. Another improvement: list some guidance on cooking with no listed recipe. Both of these will earn a 5 star!

Love this

For the first recipe, I used Beef Goulash. I thought it was very easy to assemble, although being an American, I had to look up what capsicums are. I tweaked the recipe somewhat by adding garlic and Italian seasoning, substituted for sweet potatoes, and used whole wheat flour. It turned out to be outstandingly delicious!!!

The app helps you each step of the way, from prep to cook. I especially like that you can cook without fire/heat source after the optimal cooking temperature has been reached. This eliminates the possibility of burning the dish. DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO OPEN THE LID WHILE COOKING. This will ruin the inside temperature, and won’t cook properly. This is the epitome of set it and forget it. I can’t wait to try another dish.

However, I do have some suggestions/request for future updates:
1. The option to change to imperial from metric measurements.
2. What the approximate prep / cooking time is, so you can plan on when to start cooking.
3. Time it takes to cook in “Quick Cook”
4. Darker font. I almost missed the decimal point asking for 1.2 Kg (approx 2.6 Lbs) of meat. I almost bought 12 Kg, which I thought was really too much.
5. More delicious recipes?

I am really glad I invested in the Zega pot. My husband and I love it, and think it’s very innovative.

Zega Cookware and app top notch

So much has gone into the details of this app to work with their pot. I received mine today and I was up and running very quickly.

For my first dish, I chose thai curry. It turned out delicious. The chicken breast was moist (they recommended chicken thigh). The recipes are easy to follow.

The Zega is a very heavy, highly insulated stainless pot with a lid that has a bluetooth gauge that monitors the temperature and lets you know when it's ready.

The idea is once the pot gets to a certain temperature, taking it off the stove allows it to safely cook for an allotted amount of time. The food is never overcooked and the juices stay in the pot and doesn't evaporate.

How is this different than a slow cooker or crock pot? The heat is turned off and you don't have to worry about over cooking. The recipes are rock solid.
