About
ZeroAds is a DNS filter for iPhone. It changes which DNS resolver iOS uses, so lookups for advertising and tracking domains are declined and the ads hosted on them never load — in every app, not just the browser.
WHAT ZEROADS DOES
When you turn the filter on, iOS asks your permission to install a DNS configuration. Tap Allow once and your device starts sending its DNS lookups to an encrypted resolver you choose. Domains on that resolver's published list don't resolve, so their content never arrives.
WHAT ZEROADS DOES NOT DO
ZeroAds does not scan your device. It does not examine your iPhone for viruses, look for security or privacy problems, or inspect your traffic. It runs no server of its own and never receives your DNS queries. Choosing a resolver is the entire feature.
CHOOSE YOUR RESOLVER
• Ads & Trackers — AdGuard DNS Default. Declines advertising and tracking domains. Free, no time limit.
• Cloudflare Filtered — Cloudflare 1.1.1.2, using Cloudflare's own flagged-domain list. Advertising domains are not on that list, so ads still load.
• Quad9 Filtered — Quad9 9.9.9.9, a non-profit resolver, using its published list. Ads still load.
• Family — Cloudflare 1.1.1.3. The 1.1.1.2 list plus adult-content domains.
Filtering is performed by these operators, on their own servers, using lists they publish and maintain. ZeroAds only selects which one iOS uses. Every resolver's own privacy policy is linked inside the app so you can read what it does with queries.
SAFARI CONTENT BLOCKER
ZeroAds includes a Safari content blocker you can switch on in Settings. Safari compiles and enforces the rule list itself — ZeroAds never sees what you browse.
FREE AND PRO
The Ads & Trackers list is free, with no account and no time limit. ZeroAds Pro unlocks the Cloudflare, Quad9 and Family lists.
PRIVACY
No account. No sign-up. No analytics SDK. ZeroAds has no server, so there is nowhere for your browsing to be sent. Your selected list and appearance preference stay on the device and are removed when you delete the app.
GETTING STARTED
Open ZeroAds, pick a list, tap Turn on DNS filter, and tap Allow when iOS asks. Switch lists whenever you like, or turn the filter off and return to your normal DNS — from the app or from iOS Settings.
Note: DNS filtering works on domains, not page elements. Ads served from the same domain as the article you're reading cannot be filtered this way. Results vary by app, website and network.
