About
Ziado is an adaptive learning app for primary school students. It teaches maths and reading through short, game-like rounds that adjust to what each student already knows, so practice lands in the right place every time: not too easy, not overwhelming.
A SKILL MAP, NOT A WORKSHEET TREADMILL
Every skill, from counting to 20 to comparing fractions or reading words with the digraph "sh", sits in a connected map with prerequisites. Ziado tracks confidence in each skill separately and only moves forward when that skill has genuinely been demonstrated, in more than one way. The next round is built from real evidence, not from a fixed percentage.
WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE
A round is about ten questions and takes a few minutes. Inside it: a warm-up from something already mastered, practice on the current skill, the same idea shown a different way, a near-mastery challenge, and a small stretch. Skills that were learned weeks ago come back on a spaced review schedule so they stay sharp. When a specific misunderstanding shows up more than once, Ziado notices and teaches around it.
MATHS, FOUNDATION TO LEVEL 6
All six strands of the Victorian Curriculum: Number, Algebra, Measurement, Space, Statistics and Probability. Teaching moves from concrete to representational to abstract, with counters and ten-frames before number lines and arrays, and number lines before equations. Answers are checked deterministically. Real maths, not a guess.
READING, FOUNDATION TO LEVEL 4
Structured, audio-led phonics with real recorded speech: matching sounds, choosing the right grapheme, building and segmenting words, sorting patterns, high-frequency words, and read-aloud practice a grown-up can confirm with a tap. Covers phonological awareness, phonics and decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and morphology.
EXPLORE YOUR OWN GALAXY
Home is a real-time 3D galaxy. Each planet is a world of related skills that lights up as those skills are mastered, linked by a quest trail, with a checkpoint round waiting at the end of each world. Numi, a friendly space-buddy, explains, encourages and celebrates, and grows up as more of the curriculum is mastered: hatchling, kid, explorer, then caped captain.
A DAILY MISSION
One clear next thing to do each day, with stars to bank and a streak to keep. Progress is saved to the account, so a session can start on an iPad and continue on a laptop.
PLAIN ENGLISH FOR PARENTS
The parent view says what is strong, what is developing, what needs review, whether a student is broadly at, ahead of, or behind expected level, and what to practise next. Kind but honest. No leaderboards, no ranking students against each other, anywhere in the product.
BUILT FOR SHARED IPADS
A student signs in by scanning a login card with the camera, or by typing the code. The app can remember the code on that device so the same iPad is ready to go the next day. Handing your own device to a student switches into a student-only mode, and getting back to the parent view takes an adult-level question.
QUIET AND SAFE BY DESIGN
No advertising. No third-party tracking or analytics in the app. No public leaderboards. Learning data is never sold or shared. Progress data is only ever visible to that student's own parents and their assigned teachers.
