Best storage device
I have configured my zimaboard for my computer as a storage device and have added a few apps to it. Works great for my everyday use and can access it remotely when on the go.
Good but lacking something’s
I would say that ZimaOS is a very good operating system, it’s very good for beginners however, I will say that it lacks certain features, like for example on demand VPN, photo settings and more and I feel like the settings are very lackluster. It doesn’t give the user much power.

Great But Issues
The app looks great and is very useful, but the offline downloads feature seems to be broken.
I have several folders that have been completely downloaded, and the files show the download icon. But when I tap them in the app, they’re still trying to load in real time.
It would also be useful to be able to find downloaded files inside the Files app, without having to browse through the NAS mount. They should show up in a separate “On My iPhone” folder like other apps have.

Best way to setup a self hosted cloud storage without any stressful coding. Highly recommended

This platform is so awesome. Highly recommend! Great support team too. They are so nice and helpful. The OS works like a charm and the companion app is icing on the cake. Give it a shot!

The new zima vpn connection is a terrible idea
While i can understand the intent of it, the implementation is terrible. I dont trust Icewhale enough to route traffic thru their system and i dont like getting knocked off my existing VPN the process. You cant even use the app unless you allow their connection config to be added and automatically connected to

Hi gryffonx, thank you for your feedback. Actually, you can completely bypass Zima VPN. Here's how: 1. Go to "My Devices" and long-press on your device. 2. Disable the VPN option. 3. Enter your device's local IP address in the Direct IP field. This way, the app can connect directly to your device and your existing VPN will be completely unaffected. If you still don't understand, please contact community@icewhale.org and I will send you a screenshot.
Works Well
It works well, and does what it needs to.
Battery killer
The app works for its intended use, it’s pretty basic and could offer more functionality but overall it does work. However I had to uninstall it because it was using up to 40% of my battery in the background even with the app closed, and as soon as I uninstalled it my battery stopped draining as fast.

Great on iPhone, poo on iPad
It’s great on my phone, but It’s just the iPhone version so it’s not full screen on iPad. Pretty lame-o because I don’t think it’s hard to optimize for iPad.
Downloads do not work

I have build lot of home lab systems but this is the by far the best and stable system. Really like it, this the reason i bought pro version. Only request is to have more feature inside the ios app where the folders app is more well tuned. Also the apps panel can be improved in ui. Overall stable experience with zimaos.

Great start!!
The app is still fairly basic, but having one at all is already a big plus over other systems. I hope this app and the desktop clients will continue to receive frequent updates. Keep up the good work!

Best feature of Zima OS
The number one reason I chose Zima OS over Casa OS is that Zima OS has these client apps that make connecting to your server a breeze from anywhere in the world. I’m glad to say that it works perfectly. Definitely worth downloading if you run Zima OS.
Issues logging in
Current version of the app does not accept spaces in the password field, so unable to log in.
