The PEDS normally convenes in the third quarter of the calendar year at a location somewhere within the 48 contiguous United States. During the PES, colleges and universities are encouraged to develop a targeted educational curriculum to be conducted over the first two days. The PDS convenes the last three days and presents opportunities for attendees to hear from key senior leadership and renowned professional speakers. The ELC convenes the first two days and continues with a modified schedule on the last three days. These functional specialties convene to conduct Air and Space Forces business. The AFSA conducts its general membership business during its International Convention. The AFSA delegates, general membership, and International Committees share invaluable information, discuss, and ratify such things as AFSA's Legislative Platform for the coming year and other goals and objectives. In addition to AFSA's general membership business, the AFSA is proud to host Professional Development. These forums consist of keynote addresses from senior congressional decision-makers, Department of Defense and Air and Space Forces senior leadership, war historians, and other professional speakers, just to name a few. Each speaker provides rich insight into the Air Force's past, present, and future. Moreover, these forums continue to build on the strong, solid foundation of our professional Air and Space Forces.
