Card2Memory is a flashcard tool that follows the Leitner system with 5 boxes and optimizes your learning process. On the front and back of a card, you can enter a question and answer in the form of plain text, audio files, or pictures. In addition, you can insert (cropped) PDF files via iCloud as formatted text. This way, you can also use text that has been generated with a formula editor. With a high-contrast black and white photo of a two-columned vocabulary list, the corresponding flashcards can be produced automatically via text recognition. Data from CSV files (with ; or , as a separator) can be imported into the current flashcard. A flashcard can be saved and loaded as a file with the suffix c2m. When editing flashcards, you can create backup copies to save your work in progress quickly. Because new cards will always be put into box 1, they can only be created if box 1 is selected. While learning, the cards can be flipped with a simple tap or a swipe left/right gesture. Swipe the cards that you answer right upwards into the next higher box. If the answer is wrong, swipe the card down, back into the first box When a card holds up to the check in the fifth box, it is removed from the system. For reverse learning (especially when learning vocabulary) you can flip the whole stack of cards over. You can share the flashcards you have created with other users by email or via saved c2m files. Corrections or changes to existing cards can be made after tapping the corresponding card in the table view.
LeitnerLoop

LeitnerLoop turns what you know into a revision schedule. You write your own cards — that is the whole point. The app decides when to show them to you again, using the Leitner system: five boxes, and intervals of 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days. A right answer moves a card further away, a wrong one sends it back to the start. It is simple, it is explainable, and it has worked for fifty years. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Create your own decks and two-sided cards, with an optional note • Add the reverse card in one tap: "Canada / Ottawa" and "Ottawa / Canada" become two independent cards, because knowing one direction is not knowing the other • Review everything at once, or one deck at a time • Get a reminder at the time and on the days you choose, only on days when cards are waiting for you • See how your cards are spread across the five boxes, and what is coming in the next seven days • Suspend a card without deleting it, archive a deck without losing it • Search your cards, accents and capitals ignored • Back up your whole library to a file, and restore it SO YOU DO NOT START FROM A BLANK PAGE Four decks are already there when you open the app, to carry you until you have written your own. You can refuse them, edit them or delete them like any other deck. YOUR CARDS STAY WITH YOU, UNLESS YOU ASK OTHERWISE Studying requires no account. Your cards live in a local database and are not sent anywhere. The backup produces a file that is yours to do with as you please. If you want your cards on more than one device, you can sign in with Apple or Google and sync. It is optional, you are the one who starts it, and deleting your account from the settings erases everything from the server. A CATALOGUE OF READY-MADE DECKS Prepared decks are offered in a catalogue. Browsing it requires being signed in, because it is your account that remembers what you own — a deck bought on one device opens on the other. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS NOT No leaderboards, no streak to protect, no rewards. The statistics are there to help you understand your progress, not to put pressure on you. The app is built around your own cards: writing them is half the learning. Assisted generation exists, as an option and on credits — it is a door, not the house. FREE, WITH OPTIONS Every study feature is included. An ad appears between sessions, never during one. A single purchase removes it for good. Catalogue decks can also be bought individually. No subscription, anywhere. Four languages: English, French, German and Spanish. Light and dark theme.
