Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Notepad at 4.8 against Quick Board's 4.1. Notepad also leads on ratings volume (6.4K vs 49) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). Quick Board's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Quick Board asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Notepad holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notepad has 6.4K ratings behind it against 49, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Notepad's written reviews are positive against 83% of Quick Board's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Notepad ships an update every 2 months, Quick Board every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
