Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: iAir by ICPDAS at 100% against Camera Detector App's 20%. iAir by ICPDAS also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). Camera Detector App's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.4) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 20 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Camera Detector App sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. iAir by ICPDAS asks for nothing beyond the download.
Camera Detector App holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Camera Detector App has 10K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of iAir by ICPDAS's written reviews are positive against 20% of Camera Detector App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
iAir by ICPDAS ships an update every 20 months, Camera Detector App every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
