Ruler holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ruler has 405 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Ruler+ Utility's written reviews are positive against 14% of Ruler's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Ruler+ Utility ships an update every 40 months, Ruler every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
