Audiodeskription bedeutet akustische Bildbeschreibung. Ziel der Audiodeskription ist es, audiovisuelle Medien für blinde und sehbehinderte Menschen besser erlebbar zu machen. In Sprechpausen werden zentrale Handlungselemente, Personen, Gestik und Mimik akustisch beschrieben. Das ermöglicht ein erweitertes Verständnis des Films, ohne dessen Atmosphäre zu beeinträchtigen. Live-Audiodeskription hilft sportliche, gesellschaftliche oder religiöse Ereignisse für blinde und sehbehinderte Menschen erlebbar zu machen. Speziell ausgebildete KommentatorInnen dokumentieren genau das Geschehen auf dem Bildschirm und erzeugen durch diese besondere Art der Moderation lebendige Bilder in den Köpfen der Zuhörerinnen und Zuhörer.
