Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Square Note at Free against MeditatorMate's $3.99. Square Note also leads on ratings volume (67 vs 2) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On review sentiment, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Square Note is free to download; MeditatorMate costs $3.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Square Note holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Square Note has 67 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of MeditatorMate's written reviews are positive against 93% of Square Note's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
MeditatorMate ships an update every 3 weeks, Square Note every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
