Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Monomals at free against Bleak Sword's paid. Monomals also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 8 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Monomals holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3.5K and 899 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Monomals's written reviews are positive against 80% of Bleak Sword's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Monomals ships an update every 3 months, Bleak Sword every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
