Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ads: Heatos at none against Colorma's shown. Heatos also leads on review sentiment (89% vs 76%) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 13.0). Colorma's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Heatos sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Colorma sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Colorma holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Colorma has 1.2K ratings behind it against 109, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Heatos's written reviews are positive against 76% of Colorma's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Heatos ships an update every 2 months, Colorma every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
