Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Ask VT at 5.0 against OPSWAT Mobile App's 4.4. Ask VT also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). OPSWAT Mobile App's advantage is ratings volume (76 vs 3) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Ask VT holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OPSWAT Mobile App has 76 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of OPSWAT Mobile App's written reviews are positive against 75% of Ask VT's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
OPSWAT Mobile App ships an update every 5 weeks, Ask VT every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
