Little Learners Love Literacy® is a sequenced phonics reading program designed to give children confidence and success. Each stage has 5 beautifully illustrated books with real stories about Tim and Pip and their adventures. Stage Plus 4 fits between Stage 4 & 5. It introduces the graphemes ll, ss, ff as well as words with ‘s’ for example, dogs and runs. Stage Plus 4 introduces a new recording feature that allows children to record and hear themselves read. This is an important step in developing fluency, as it gives children a reason to reread and record. Fluency is an important literacy skill requiring accuracy and comprehension. Stages 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 have professionally recorded and produced audio. However, Stages Plus 4, 6, & 7 allow children to read and record themselves. Children are now more confident readers and will benefit from this new recording feature. They will enjoy checking their accuracy by following the words in the book. Each book provides vocabulary and comprehension questions. All words, except the Heart words, can be ‘sounded out’. To do this, children point to each letter or grapheme, saying the sounds then blending the sounds together to read the word. Little Learners Love Literacy Stage Plus 4: The Little Vet Sad Tip No Ned A Mud Picnic The Big Wind Day There are NO tricks in the Little Learner books. Note: Please make sure to enable the microphone on your device when asked or you will not be able to record anything. Also make sure your device is not set to mute to hear the audio back.

About

ReadingScreen

Accurately identify Primary school children who would benefit from reading support, using our fast, fun and intuitive app for teachers and teaching assistants. Based on decades of University of Oxford research into reading development. ReadingScreen assessments consist of two tests measuring different reading skills. The first presents pupils with up to 60 individual words of increasing complexity. The second presents them with up to 34 nonwords. The pupil is asked to read each word or nonword out loud and their responses are marked for accuracy by the adult conducting the assessment. If they get 15 answers in a row incorrect, the test ends and they move onto the next test. Each assessment should take 10 minutes or less to complete. Assessments can be interrupted if necessary and will resume from the beginning of the most recent test. To launch an assessment, the adult conducting the assessment should scan the QR code for the pupil they want to assess. No personally identifiable information is stored on the device. At the end of an assessment, the data is uploaded to oxedandassessment.com for instant feedback and reports can be generated for classes or year groups. If no internet connection is available, the data can be stored on the device and uploaded at a later date. ReadingScreen is suitable for schools and organisations (UK and international) using English or Welsh as the medium of education.
