ChatMeld
Read full descriptionHide full description
ChatMeld is a location-based messenger that connects you with people nearby, designed with user safety, privacy, and accountability as top priorities. ChatMeld is intended for users of different ages, including children. Protection is built into the service architecture, from registration and user profiles to message moderation before publication, reporting, and enforcement actions. Communication Without Language Barriers Connect with people nearby, regardless of the language they speak. Automatic real-time message translation allows everyone to read messages in their preferred language and respond in their own. Geographic, Wi-Fi, and hybrid chats bring people together based on their location, shared network, or a combination of these conditions. There is no need to exchange phone numbers or personal contact information to communicate. Registration and Personal Profiles Authentication is handled through MeldID, the unified sign-in system for the DigiMeld ecosystem. Installing a separate MeldID application is not required. Each user receives a permanent internal profile and a unique nickname that works across all chats, regardless of language or location. Public profiles allow participants to recognize each other by name and nickname. Email addresses and registration identifiers remain private. Safe Communication All text messages undergo automatic server-side moderation before publication. The multilingual system analyzes message content, meaning, and attempts to bypass the rules. Prohibited messages are blocked before they appear in a chat. Additional protection mechanisms include: • Nickname screening for prohibited content. • Reporting inappropriate messages and nicknames. • Review of violations by the moderation team. • Temporary and permanent access restrictions. • Protection against bypassing restrictions by changing nicknames or switching chats. ChatMeld does not allow users to send photos, videos, voice messages, or files. Private one-on-one conversations between participants are not available. User Accountability Each participant has an individual internal profile associated with their actions, reports, and restrictions. Rule violations have consequences. Depending on their nature, access may be temporarily restricted or permanently blocked. Changing a nickname, switching chats, or signing in again does not remove existing restrictions. However, ChatMeld sanctions do not affect MeldID or other DigiMeld services. Temporary Chats Chats are created for ongoing conversations and are not permanent. As long as a conversation remains active, the chat continues to exist. Once activity stops, the chat is automatically deleted after the designated period. Having a permanent profile does not mean that conversation history is stored permanently. Notifications Under Your Control Customize sound, vibration, and push notification behavior. You can choose to receive only one notification about new messages per chat until you open it, preventing your phone from alerting you after every new message. Quiet Mode allows you to set a convenient schedule, such as from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Notifications continue to arrive but remain silent. Privacy and Data Management ChatMeld does not disclose users’ email addresses or internal identifiers to other participants. You can delete your ChatMeld profile directly from the application. Inactive registrations are automatically deleted after one year of inactivity. ChatMeld — connect with people wherever you are, in the language you prefer, with safety and privacy at the core of every feature.
