Smoothstreamer is Smoothcomp's official live streaming app for martial arts and combat sports events. For event organizers: Scan the QR code Smoothcomp generates for your mat and you're configured — no typing, no setup screens. Tap Go Live and you're streaming to Smoothcomp.tv (and YouTube, if configured) in under a minute. Smoothstreamer reconnects automatically through venue Wi-Fi hiccups, and every stream carries a live overlay — scoreboards, athlete names, sponsor branding — that Smoothcomp can update anytime without a new app release. Every session, live or recorded, can be saved locally as a fallback, so a dropped connection or a closed app never costs you the footage.

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Larix Broadcaster at 56% against Smoothstreamer's 0%. Larix Broadcaster also leads on ratings volume (131 vs 2) and iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). Smoothstreamer's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.6) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Larix Broadcaster sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Smoothstreamer asks for nothing beyond the download.
Smoothstreamer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Larix Broadcaster has 131 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Larix Broadcaster's written reviews are positive against 0% of Smoothstreamer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
