RhythmStar gives cardiologists and clinical staff secure mobile access to their patients' cardiac monitoring information — anytime, on iPhone or iPad. The app provides a read-only view; it does not interpret data, generate alerts, or perform real-time patient monitoring. Cardiac monitoring information shown in the app is sourced from the user's monitoring service. RhythmStar supports multiple cardiac monitoring services and is restricted to credentialed medical providers. Accounts are provisioned by the clinical practice through their monitoring service — there is no public sign-up within the app. IMPORTANT: RhythmStar is for medical providers only and is not a patient-facing application. If you are a patient with questions about your cardiac monitoring, please contact your care team directly.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: RhythmStar at 5.0 against ZioSuite's 4.7. RhythmStar also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 10 months). ZioSuite's advantage is ratings volume (23 vs 1) and review sentiment (50% vs 33%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

RhythmStar holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ZioSuite has 23 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of RhythmStar's written reviews are positive against 50% of ZioSuite's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

RhythmStar ships an update every 2 months, ZioSuite every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
