Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Hitec Connect at none against EAA Events's shown. Hitec Connect also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and review sentiment (40% vs 14%). EAA Events's advantage is rating (2.8 vs 2.5) and ratings volume (78 vs 4). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
EAA Events holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EAA Events has 78 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Hitec Connect's written reviews are positive against 14% of EAA Events's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Hitec Connect ships an update every 3 weeks, EAA Events every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
