Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Professory at 4.3 against Classmate's 3.4. Professory also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (28 vs 5). Classmate's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (67% vs 50%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Professory sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 3 months and Classmate sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Professory holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Professory has 28 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Professory's written reviews are positive against 67% of Classmate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Professory ships an update fortnightly, Classmate every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
