Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Challenges at 4.6 against Macros Inc's 4.1. Challenges also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (5.7K vs 29). Macros Inc's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 51%) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.6). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Macros Inc sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Challenges asks for nothing beyond the download.
Challenges holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Challenges has 5.7K ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Challenges's written reviews are positive against 67% of Macros Inc's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Challenges ships an update every 3 weeks, Macros Inc every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
