Band Section

Band Section brings ensemble management and a network of amateur and professional musicians together in one app: projects, rehearsals, concerts, attendance, repertoire, score parts, communication and recruitment. Orchestra, wind band, fanfare, brass band, big band, choir or custom ensemble: everything is organized by section, so each piece of information reaches the musicians it concerns. One account covers all your ensembles. Projects, rehearsals and concerts • Plan each project: theme, dates, program, rehearsals, concerts, performances and meetings. • Create every weekly rehearsal of the project in one step. • Subscribe to the ensemble calendar: only the events that involve you are added to your calendar, and it stays up to date automatically. • Cancel an event and notify the musicians involved by email. Attendance • Answer in one tap (yes, no, late), in the app or straight from the invitation email. • Musicians involved in an event automatically receive an attendance request 24 hours before it starts. • Organizers see who will be there, as a list or on the seating chart. Repertoire and score parts • Browse each project's program, piece by piece, with composer and arranger. • Add pieces from a shared, moderated catalog. • Score parts uploaded by the ensemble are sorted by piece and by role: each musician only sees their own parts. Seating • Lay out your ensemble in a semi-circle, a marching column or lines, with rows, seats, shared stands and the conductor's podium. • Automatic seating places section leaders first, then permanent members, substitutes and extras, and never moves anyone already seated. Targeted communication • Write to a section, to specific roles or to the whole ensemble, with an email copy when needed. • Attach scores, documents, images, audio recordings and videos: they remain available in the app. • Add a poll to choose a date, a venue or a program. • Continue the conversation in comments or in private messages. • Push notifications, adjustable by category, alert you to new messages, invitations and requests. Members and permissions • Invite musicians from the app or by email, even if they don't have an account yet. • Musicians can also request to join the ensemble: an admin approves each request. • Give each member a role, a status (permanent, substitute, extra) and, where relevant, a board position. • Share the workload across three permission levels: admin, organizer and member. Network and recruitment • Showcase your background on your profile: instruments, years of practice, experience and education. • On the map, discover ensembles near you and their open positions. • Available to join an ensemble, fill in or play as an extra? Post an announcement for each instrument without revealing your exact location. • Follow musicians and ensembles, share news, react and comment. • Parents and music lovers can follow local ensembles with an Audience account. Privacy • Private profile, hideable location, public or private events: you decide what others can see. • Your data is processed in accordance with the GDPR, and you can suspend or delete your account at any time. Available on mobile and on the web. Built for an international community, Band Section aims to bring ensembles together across borders through exchanges and joint projects. Forget the admin. Play more music.
