Absolute Tides vs Tide Pro

Displays officially licenced UKHO tidal data on an annual basis without ever needing to go online. The tidal data is contained in our annual data plugins and must be purchased using in-app purchases. Once you have purchased the data, this app will allow you to view UKHO standard port tides up to a year in advance. The app will also calculate secondary port tides using its own built in offsets. (The 'UK data 2016' IAP contains data for 38 primary ports and over 500 secondary ports, see our website for more details on coverage) The main view is an 'At a glance' table view of each month's tides and tidal ranges. Selecting an entry will display an easy to use daily chart view showing the tide height for any time of day and a tidal stream view showing tidal direction and speed at hourly intervals. The Weather section downloads and displays the current Met Office Inshore Forecast. Absolute Tides also makes anchoring easy by calculating the maximum and minimum tides beween the current time and any selected future date/time. Note: This application will NOT work without at least one of our tidal data in-app purchases being installed. If you are into fishing, beach combing, surfing, sailing, or wild fishing, this app provides high-precision ocean weather forecasts. Main benefits: 1. Astronomical tide and currents forecast: The tide model algorithm was upgraded in January 2021, and grid precision was significantly improved compared with the previous model. Supports offline access to real-time tide and moon phase data for favorite sites. 2. 6-day storm surge forecast: Storm surge is the rise in seawater level caused solely by a storm. It is measured as the height of the water above the normal predicted astronomical tide. This model output is not total water level guidance. Total tide results from the combination of storm surge and astronomical tide. Actual water levels can be significantly higher than forecast due to waves, steric effects, and other components not currently included in this model. 3. Merged ocean currents provide a practical estimate of sea-surface velocity. The total current is obtained by adding contributions from general ocean circulation, waves such as Stokes drift, and tides, including exchange between the coast and the open sea. Supports access to the speed and direction of merged ocean currents, oceanic general circulation, sea surface height, and sea surface temperature. 4. Ocean wave forecast: Supports access to wave height, wave period, wave direction, and three categories of wave data. 5. Ocean currents forecast: Supports access to current speed, direction, temperature, and salinity data for both surface currents and currents at 50 different depths. 6. Ocean biochemistry forecast: Supports access to 10 marine biochemistry indicators, including chlorophyll, phytoplankton, pH value, and gross primary productivity. 7. Seabed elevation: Supports access to seabed elevation data. Grid precision is less than 0.5 km. 8. Weather data including water temperature and soil temperature: Supports access to water temperature and soil temperature at four different depths.
