Do you remember the classic game Galaga? This isn't exactly the same as the original, but it is a modernized version based on the classic game, designed for everyone to enjoy. Unlike the old days, you can use three types of weapons and upgrade them. Space bugs have taken over several planets. You must control a spaceship to drive out the bugs and liberate the planets. Overcome the bosses and obstacles waiting on each planet. Controls are easy. Touch and move the screen, and the spaceship will follow. When you release your finger, the spaceship transforms and changes its weapon. Upgrade your weapons with the rewards you receive every time you clear a stage. Shall we get started?

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Gallag at 4.3 against Galaxy88's 3.3. Gallag also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Galaxy88's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Gallag holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Galaxy88's written reviews are positive against 67% of Gallag's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Galaxy88 ships an update monthly, Gallag every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
