Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Shows at 100% against SHIFT72's 17%. Shows also leads on rating (4.6 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (22 vs 1). SHIFT72's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Shows holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shows has 22 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 17% of SHIFT72's written reviews are positive against 100% of Shows's.
SHIFT72 ships an update every 4 months, Shows every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
