In 1816 scientist Sir David Brewster invented the kaleidoscope. In 2015 Art Lab Gnesta presents Laboscope, a new tool for unique observations. A decaying leaf in a mudpit transforms into a suggestive body. A sprouting bud creates intricate patterns. Just like snowflakes Laboscope never duplicates its output. Discover the ecosystems around you. With Laboscope you have an instrument for close observations, unique perspectives and a tool for you to capture the beauty. Art Lab Gnesta is collaborating with the research network Earth Colab in a mutual artistic, pedagogical and ecopolitical quest where artistic practice and natural sciences intertwine. Laboscope is an outcome of this collaboration. The work has been moderated by Erik Rören and Signe Johannessen in dialogue with approximately 100 8th graders from Frejaskolan in Gnesta, Sweden. A celebration of nature’s multifaceted beauty!

Blozzum Bitty is a studio for sound-reactive visual art. Build a composition from shapes, effects, and color, bind anything to your music, and watch it move, bloom, and breathe in time with every beat. It's the lightweight member of the Blozzum family — light on your battery and instantly playable on iPhone and iPad, while still giving you real creative control. HOW IT WORKS Start from a shape. Add a stack of mutation and effects to twist, warp, and stylize it. Finish with a final stage of touch ups. Then make it listen: different audio metrics (RMS, Frame Peak, Kick, Beat, etc.) can drive most any parameter in the paths, mutations, and effects — you decide what reacts to what. Use the mic for live input, or load an audio file and loop through it. EASY ON YOUR DEVICE Blozzum Bitty runs a streamlined, single-layer engine with a gentle frame-rate cap, so it stays cool and battery-friendly during long sessions.
