RaceRunner: the run-tracking app built by a runner who races, for runners who race. Spectators can track the progress of runners during races. Spectators can start and stop timing of runs. Spectators can send messages to runners which are read aloud by the runner's phone. RaceRunner can stop timing a run automatically after a certain distance, which is useful for the time trials that runners conduct in preparation for races. RaceRunner can track shoe mileage and warn when mileage limits are exceeded. Keep those racing flats fresh! The source code for RaceRunner is available on GitHub. Feel free to inspect the source code and offer changes to it. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

The AccuRun Virtual Race Assistant allows users to register for available races, create an account, participate in races and review the race leaderboard. In order to track running progress, the AccuRun app requires that user's Location Services and Notifications be authorized. While this does require more battery power during a race, location services are turned off when not in a virtual race. Depending on the level of verification required by the race organizer, additional sensors may be used to validate the runner's activity using steps, heart rate, etc. throughout the race. Click an available race enrollment link to register for a virtually-enabled race. NOTE: This app requires an Internet connection
