Galileo Data Entry

This great App allows the social scientist to conduct surveys that all users of the app will see. The users fill out these surveys by reporting the differences (or distances) between a list of concepts. The user reports the distance of each concept to each other concept. This data creates a matrix of responses that can be reconstructed into a 3D map showing a 'conceptual space' using 'R' software, available for free download. This App can be also be used to collect any multidimensional scaling data such as that collected and mapped by SPSS, Statistics Package for the Social Sciences, an IBM product and a variety of other applications that are available for purchase. When the user is done filling out the survey, the user selects 'Exit and Send' and the data that was collected by the App is delivered to the social scientist as a list of pairs of concepts and the differences (or distances) between them. Any questions, contact the author on the support site! Need a custom version for your organization? Contact the author? This software can also be used to collect data for the Galileo System created by Rick Holmes and a variety of students over the years from Michigan State University, SUNY Albany and SUNY Buffalo including the author for Dr. Joseph Woelfel.
Critical Thinking
Read full descriptionHide full description
Most bad arguments are not stupid. They are convincing โ that is exactly why they work. This is a practice app, not a lecture hall. Every morning you get three questions built on a real case: a report that quietly leaves out the bad weeks, a headline that implies more than it says, an argument that almost holds. You answer, you see why the wrong options feel right, and you keep the move that defuses that trick next time. WHAT'S INSIDE Daily practice Three questions a day, each with a full breakdown. Three minutes, and the reasoning stays with you. Three courses, 66 lessons โข Critical Thinking โ 21 lessons with video and notes: testing arguments and sources, spotting manipulation, making better-balanced decisions. โข Critical Thinking and Health โ 21 lessons on telling evidence from persuasive stories, checking health claims and deciding without panic. โข Cognitive Biases โ 24 lessons on the most common thinking traps: how each one works, where it catches you in money, work and the news, and the move that defuses it. 50 quizzes Five topics โ logic, biases, media, data and sources. Ten questions each, about five minutes. AI analysis Paste a news story, a claim or a situation you are stuck on. You get it taken apart: what is actually being claimed, what the facts support, where the weak points are, what is worth checking, and a balanced conclusion โ plus one question to ask yourself. Progress you can read XP, a streak and skill bars by topic, so you can see which kind of reasoning keeps catching you out. FREE AND PREMIUM Free: the daily practice, the first two lessons of every course, five quizzes and five AI analyses. Premium: all 66 lessons, all 50 quizzes, the random quiz mix and unlimited AI analyses. SUBSCRIPTION Premium is available as a monthly or an annual auto-renewable subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase with no renewal. Prices are shown in the app before you confirm, and payment is charged to your Apple Account. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple Account settings.
