Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Trip Plans at none against IITA Summit Navigator's shown. Trip Plans also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 1) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). IITA Summit Navigator's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
IITA Summit Navigator holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trip Plans has 1.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Trip Plans ships an update monthly, IITA Summit Navigator weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
