Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Reformed Companion at every 2 months against PCA BCO's every 7 months. Reformed Companion also leads on ratings volume (121 vs 14). PCA BCO's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Reformed Companion holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Reformed Companion has 121 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of PCA BCO's written reviews are positive against 98% of Reformed Companion's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
PCA BCO ships an update every 7 months, Reformed Companion every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
