Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Chessigma at 4.5 against Cubed++'s 4.0. Chessigma also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Cubed++'s advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 weeks) and review sentiment (75% vs 57%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cubed++ sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Chessigma sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Chessigma holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 31 and 54 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Cubed++'s written reviews are positive against 57% of Chessigma's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Cubed++ ships an update every 9 days, Chessigma every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
