Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: RecDek at 100% against Screeners's 18%. RecDek also leads on rating (5.0 vs 1.7). Screeners's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and ratings volume (25 vs 5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
RecDek holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screeners has 25 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 18% of Screeners's written reviews are positive against 100% of RecDek's.
Screeners ships an update every 3 weeks, RecDek every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
