The call

The clearest difference is rating: Shift at 4.9 against Sked's 3.7. Shift also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and review sentiment (77% vs 52%). Sked's advantage is ratings volume (164 vs 11) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
