Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Flare at 6.8K against Mix's 14. Flare also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks) and chart position (#117 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Flare against 5.0 for Mix. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flare has 6.8K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 97% of Flare's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mix's.
Flare ships an update every 3 days, Mix every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
