Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Brain Code at 4.6 against Placid Place's 2.8. Brain Code also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 4). Placid Place's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brain Code sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Placid Place asks for nothing beyond the download.
Brain Code holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brain Code has 1.1K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Placid Place's written reviews are positive against 77% of Brain Code's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Placid Place ships an update every 2 weeks, Brain Code monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 19, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
