Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: One Foot at 100% against Disco Steps's 50%. One Foot also leads on iOS requirement (9.1 vs 15.4). Disco Steps's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (20 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. One Foot sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Disco Steps sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Disco Steps holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Disco Steps has 20 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of One Foot's written reviews are positive against 50% of Disco Steps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

One Foot ships an update every 3 months, Disco Steps every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
