Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: PrepWise Meal Planner at 5.0 against Ramen Beast's 4.4. PrepWise Meal Planner also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 9 months) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Ramen Beast's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (24 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ramen Beast sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and PrepWise Meal Planner sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
PrepWise Meal Planner holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ramen Beast has 24 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Ramen Beast ships an update every 9 months, PrepWise Meal Planner every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
