WATCH CLOSELY • Half speed, loop the whole clip or just one part, and mirror to study the other side • Pin a note to a moment in a video, such as an instructor's correction, and jump back to it later • AirPlay a video to the dojo TV or projector FIND IT FAST • Search understands phrases like "katate dori ikkyo ura", and kanji like 一教 • Browse by attack to see every technique from one grab or strike • Tags you can pick, search and pin to Home DICTIONARY 122 terms with kanji and kana. Tap the speaker to hear a term in Japanese, and tap again to hear it slowly. Add your own terms. COLLECTIONS FOR EACH TEST • Make a collection for each grading and tick techniques off as you practice • Pin a collection to Home to see your progress • Paste a written syllabus and the app finds the videos for each grade PRACTICE • Term flashcards: the word with its kanji and kana; flip for the meaning • Video flashcards: watch a silent clip and name the technique, the attack, and omote or ura • Cards you miss come back sooner • Mock Test calls out a collection's requirements at random, aloud in Japanese, like an examiner. Set how many times each name is said and the time between techniques, and practice hands-free TRAINING LOG • Log today's class with one tap • Record each test, with its videos • Set a goal for training days before your next test • Widgets for training days, your test progress and a term of the day MAKE IT YOURS • On any technique, add notes, photos, videos from Photos or recorded in class, and YouTube links • Add techniques and attacks the library doesn't have • Rename, hide or restore any built-in tag, video, category or term, and add your own categories • Build your lineage, from your art's founder down to your own teacher, and write your own Learn pages • Start your own library for another art BUDO RENSHU If your dojo uses Budo Renshu, sign in to connect it. Each dojo you belong to arrives with its ranks as collections, matched to the videos, one section per art. Rate each requirement Lost, Shaky or Got it, in step with your Budo Renshu ratings. See your rank, your classes toward the next one and your next test. Your dojo's dictionary terms, technique notes, lineage and videos appear beside the standard ones. The classes your dojo records appear in your Training Log. Budo Renshu is in testing at Capital City Aikido; other dojos aren't available to join yet. FOR TEACHERS Share a syllabus, recordings included, as one file by Mail, Messages or AirDrop. Students tap Import. A newer file from you updates their lists and keeps their ticks. Everything you add syncs to your other devices through iCloud. Works on iPhone and iPad, and on a folding iPhone it stays on the same page when you fold or unfold it. One purchase. No account needed, no subscription, no ads.
