About

Bytesweep

Swipe through your photos one month at a time. Left to delete, right to keep, undo anything. Nothing is deleted until you have looked at what you marked and confirmed it. SWIPE REVIEW Pick a month and Bytesweep shows it to you one photo or video at a time. Swipe left and it is stamped DELETE; swipe right and it is stamped KEEP. Undo goes back through every decision, not just the last one. A counter shows your progress and the size of what you have marked. Favorites and protected albums are left out. Nothing is deleted while you swipe: when the month is done you look over what you marked, iOS asks you to confirm, and it all goes to Recently Deleted for 30 days. Swiping and marking are free. Ask Siri: "Start Swipe Review in Bytesweep". SMART CLEAN โ€ข Similar photos โ€” near-identical shots grouped, so you keep one โ€ข Duplicate photos โ€” keep the highest quality, the newest or the oldest โ€ข Burst photos โ€” every frame of a burst, laid out โ€ข Large videos, biggest first, and videos worth shrinking โ€ข Screen recordings, Cinematic and slow-motion videos โ€ข Screenshots โ€” sorted into those with text, receipts, and the rest โ€ข Saved by other apps โ€” the copies WhatsApp and Telegram left in your library โ€ข Blurry photos, panoramas, portraits, Live Photos, RAW+JPEG pairs โ€ข Files, in folders you give it access to Selecting a Live Photo deletes the whole photo, not only its moving part. SHRINK VIDEOS Re-encode a video to HEVC at the same resolution, or down to 1080p. You confirm each one. FIND AND SORT โ€ข Ask Your Photos โ€” find a photo by describing it. Uses Apple's on-device model on iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence, simpler matching otherwise. โ€ข Photo Intelligence โ€” receipts, documents, food, pets, travel, cars, whiteboards and products, grouped โ€ข Places โ€” every photo grouped by where you took it โ€ข Remove Location โ€” make copies without location, camera and time details, also from the Share sheet PRIVATE VAULT AND EXPORT Move photos into an encrypted vault on this iPhone, opened with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. Photos only for now. The vault does not move to a new iPhone, and deleting the app deletes it; the app says so before anything goes in. Export copies what you marked to a drive, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive. Copying frees nothing on its own; the space comes back when you delete the originals. CONTACTS, CALENDAR AND REMINDERS Duplicate contacts to merge, entries with no phone, email or name, and similar ones. Old calendar events, duplicates and declined invitations. Reminders saved twice, blank, completed over a month ago or overdue by more than a year. Nothing changes until you confirm. Calendars and reminders have no Recently Deleted, so removing there is permanent. STORAGE, AT A GLANCE A storage chart, a growth chart, and an estimate of when the phone will be full. Reports you can save as PDF, a cleanup history, and a count of what is still in Recently Deleted. Home and Lock Screen widgets, a Control Center and Action button control on iOS 18, and 10 Siri and Shortcuts actions. Also: battery level, temperature state and Low Power Mode; a QR and barcode scanner, a document scanner that makes PDFs, and text recognition. THE HONEST PART If your photos are optimized for iCloud, a 12 MB photo might take 200 KB on this iPhone. Deleting it frees 200 KB here and removes it from every device. Bytesweep shows both numbers before you delete. It cannot clear other apps' caches, "System Data", or storage used by Messages, Safari or Mail. No app on iOS can. Bytesweep shows you where that space is. PRICE Scanning, browsing and swiping are free. Deleting, shrinking, the vault, export, and changing contacts, calendars and reminders are one purchase: Bytesweep Pro. No subscription, no trial, no renewal. It covers every device on your Apple Account. PRIVACY Everything happens on your iPhone. No account, no server, and no network requests. Nothing leaves the device unless you export it.
